Certificate III in Individual Support

QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

    These competencies have been drawn from the nationally endorsed industry training package the Community Services Training Package (CHC). Upon successful completion of the training and assessment, the qualification CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support will be issued within 30 days of completion of the Qualification. A Statement of Attainment will be issued who are not able to complete the qualification but have completed few units. Statement of Attainment is not considered a complete Qualification.

    Students are required to undertake face to face, work placement and home study over the period of 52 weeks including breaks.

    To achieve this qualification, the candidates are required to complete at least 120 hours of work placement in a real work place environment.

    Students may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if they possess any formal or informal experience related to Industry. Students will be assessed against their competency by an assessor.

    You may eligible for Credit Transfer if you have undertaken formal study previously. To be eligible for credit transfer you need to submit provide original certificates for verification.

    Each student enrolling in this course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. Certification will not be issued until you have a valid USI number.

    In few instances students, may be exempt from USI but before availing any exemption please consider as your transcript will not be available on USI System.
